A cellist with a warm, intense sound, Amparo Lacruz draws the listener in through her expressive power and a stylistically coherent phrasing full of musicality and colour. In her performances, reflection meets sensitivity, depth and feeling. A passion for chamber music and an enthusiastic commitment to teaching are the two pillars of her career.

A member of the Kandinsky Trio since 1999, she has toured extensively across Europe, America and Asia. In 2009 she received the CD Compact magazine award for the best chamber recording of the year for her recording of the music of Joan Guinjoan, and her recordings of Schönberg, Clara Schumann and Brahms —for Columna Música— and of Roberto Gerhard's Sonata —for Stradivarius— have been warmly reviewed. Her account of Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, with the Manon ensemble, is a benchmark.

Her concerts have been broadcast on Radio Nacional de España, Catalunya Música, Radio France, RAI, TV3 and Mezzo. She teaches cello and chamber music at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona and has given masterclasses in Tokyo, Shanghai, Morelia, Lima and Santo Domingo.
