Andreu Riera

Andreu Riera has won some of the most important national competitions, such as the Infanta Cristina and Caja Postal (Madrid) and the Premio Alonso (Valencia), as well as prestigious international awards including the Frederic Mompou and Jacinto Guerrero (Spain) and the Mozart Competition of the Salzburg Mozarteum (Austria). He has toured extensively across Spain, Italy, Austria, France, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia.

Together with cellist Amparo Lacruz he founded the chamber group Manon and has recorded two albums highly praised by the international press: Messiaen's Quatuor pour la fin du temps and a tribute to contemporary Catalan composers. He has collaborated with musicians such as Ara Malikian, Joan Enric Lluna, Gerard Claret and Vartan Manoogian.

As a soloist he has performed with orchestras such as the Seville Symphony, the City of Granada Orchestra, the Málaga Symphony, the JONDE and the Colorado Springs Festival Orchestra. He is an elected member of the Academy of Arts of Palma de Mallorca and teaches at the Conservatory of the Balearic Islands.
