CV
Carlos Vera Larrucea, a vibraphonist and percussionist born in Santiago de Chile, is one of the most singular voices in classical percussion today. He trained at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich under Peter Sadlo, and was principal percussionist of the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra.
His work has expanded the repertoire of the vibraphone as a solo instrument —with projects such as his recording of concertos for vibraphone and orchestra— and has led him to take part in ventures that bridge the classical tradition with other languages, such as Classica Nova by Oriol Cruixent.
