Oriol Cruixent (Barcelona, 1976) is a composer, pianist and conductor. Winner of the first prize at the Dimitris Mitropoulos International Composition Competition in Athens (2007), he has an extensive catalogue of more than eighty-five works spanning solo, chamber, choral, symphonic and operatic music, performed on stages across Europe, America and Asia. His scores are published by Universal Edition.
He studied piano, theory, violin and voice in Barcelona and completed his composition training in the Meisterklasse of Professor Dieter Acker in Munich, with the support of the DAAD foundation. Between 2005 and 2008 he was assistant music director at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, and has also worked as a répétiteur, as a conductor on studio recordings and as a pianist alongside internationally renowned musicians.
